  1. Hi! I'm the author of a recent work of equestrian fiction. I was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing my book for your website in exchange for a complimentary e-book copy. For a preview, you can access the book at the following link:

  2. Hi! Quick question, when riding in the ring with other horses what are the rules? I show gold and I still am not certain... I know left to left but if your walking shouldn't you be on the inside? And if your trotting shouldn't you stay out of the way when people are cantering? Which gait takes priority? And do the left to left rule still apply? Thanks so much!

    1. Warm-up rings are special places because of the jumps being in the middle. Left to left as a general rule, but horses just walking should stay to the inside when possible leaving the track to the horses trotting and cantering (in most cases riders should be aware of those around them and call "inside" or "outside" rather than worrying about trotting vs cantering).

Those jumping will generally need to cut inside in order to turn to their jumps without traffic, so those not jumping should be on the lookout and make way for those turning to the jumps, who have the most priority.

    2. Ok thanks! The worst warmup ring is at trillium champs! 50 horses all trying to warm up in the same ring! It was scary!

  3. Hi,
Do you know if a western side pull would be legal to show in the jumpers with?
It looks like the jumping hackamores you have pictured, but instead of leather, it is rope. Thank you!

    1. Hi Jumper Addict,

In theory, as long as it's humane, pretty much anything goes for the jumper ring. Always check the rules for your particular show association first, but there shouldn't be a problem with the use of western bits/hackamores instead of English ones.
